BIOPATH partners provide feedback paper to TNFD
The BIOPATH workshop in Gothenburg on the Task Force for Nature-related Disclosure, TNFD, in early March had a dual objective. The first was to share experiences from piloting TNFD framework among partners in the Mistra BIOPATH consortia. Secondly, it was to develop a feedback paper to the TNFD in order to see whether we can identify areas for improvement or other aspects to convey.
“Right now there is a great momentum in trying to identify ways that organisations and the financial system can actually work to reduce the negative impacts that we are currently having on nature and biodiversity”, says Viktor Elliot, leader of WP 1 in Mistra BIOPATH and Senior lecturer at the Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law.
A driver for change is the public policies and private initiatives that are being established where TNFD is the leading private initiative among financial institutions and corporates. They are trying to develop a standardised framework for reporting on nature risk, exposures and opportunities.
“I think it is very important that we meet like this and discuss how we can make these frameworks as good and useful as possible”, concludes Viktor Elliot.
