Wrapping up our field study in Brazil – reflections & next steps
As our field study in Brazil is now coming to an end, we reflect on an incredible journey filled with invaluable experiences, meaningful conversations, and eye-opening insights. This opportunity has allowed us to immerse ourselves in the realities of forest conservation and restoration, engaging with experts and organizations working to protect Brazil’s rich biodiversity. Seeing these efforts firsthand has not only deepened our understanding but also significantly influenced the direction of our thesis in ways we couldn’t have foreseen.
Collaboration is crucial
Brazil is a country with great potential for substantial investments and innovative projects aimed at sustainable development. The ongoing initiatives in conservation finance and restoration strategies are inspiring, and our time here has reinforced how crucial collaboration between different sectors is in achieving large-scale environmental impact.
Now, as we return home, the next phase of our work begins. We will focus on analysing all the insights gathered, structuring our findings, and refining our thesis. From evaluating financial models to discussing policy implications, we are eager to translate our field experiences into meaningful academic contributions. The knowledge we’ve gained here will serve as a strong foundation as we work towards finalizing our research.
A transformative journey
We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for everyone who has shared their time and expertise with us along the way. We have also enjoyed sharing the journey here with you. This experience has been truly transformative, and we look forward to putting together what we learnt!
